With a bunch of buddies, we've decided to pick up and dust off the old Copenhagen chiptune community 8-bit klubben ("the 8 bit club") which was pioneered a few years back by my Science Friction colleague Jacob Sikker Remin. It's been in hiatus for a couple of years, but that's to now due to change - fun plans are brewing.
We have some interesting events lined up already: On September 5 we'll collaborate with Copenhagen art festival ALT:CPH to produce a mikrodisko party with top of the line international line-up (more on that later). To get things off the ground we'll also be organizing a warm-up event in collaboration with Strøm Festival on August 13 in HCØ-Hus on Frederiksberg/Nørrebro (where we're currently based). Later in the year we'll work with Cinemateket to screen the new chiptune documentary Europe In 8-bits - and the idea is to try to raise some funds for hosting workshops and more parties in 2015. Stay tuned! (and to follow along, head on over to our Facebook page).
