Heading for Reykjavik for CC Nordic Summit // #creativecommons #reykjavik

Today I head for the vibrant city of Reykjavik on Iceland for a few days to join my fellow Creative Commons projects leads from the rest of the nordic countries, as well as several more active members of the CC communities. The summit is part of the Some Rights Reserved For Nordic Artists-project instigated by Jonas Öberg from Society For Free Software and Culture in Sweden, and will serve as an opportunity to meet with a range of very interesting Icelandic groups and organizations. One of these is STEF, the Icelandic collecting society, with whom we'll discuss ways to collaborate and learn from each other.

On a sidenote, I am really looking forward to coming back to Reykjavik, which I also had the pleasure of visiting last summer for holidays. To me, Reykjavik is a unique city that - despite it's small size - has the pulse of a much larger city, and boasts a cultural and stylishly innovative spirit that is perhaps no where to found elsewhere in the world. I would love to see Reykjavik take lead in open culture initiatives, and will do whatever I can to help ignite any such ideas in collaboration with the local entrepreneurs.
