This coming week is quite a milestone in my 2012 so far. Thursday we unveil the PlayForm art & technology mobile exhibition that features 7 interactive installation produced by the users in and around our Platform4 creative hub - with contributions from Aalborg, Aarhus and Copenhagen (last mentioned in collaboration with the Labitat hackerspace). The exhibition is installed in a 20-foot freight container and will, after the vernissage in Platform4 on Thursday, visit a range of cities around northern part of Denmark (and potentially the rest of the country, should opportunities occur) over the summer. We are quite excited about this.
The day after, on Friday, we open the doors of the new Platform4 - that is, Platform4 in it's new setting in the former amusement park Karolinelund, where we'll reside for the next 3 years at least, hopefully longer. In the next days leading up to this, a huge bunch of the volunteers as well as those of us staffing the place will work frenetically to get everything ready. A ceremony will be held by the municipality on the same day, because the grand opening coincides with the official opening of the actual park surrounding Platform4.
Our opening will showcase our current projects as well as the PlayForm exhibition during the daytime - where our new café will also be open - and when evening comes the venue will host the years first performances and a grand party featuring a phat lineup of local dub, hiphop and dancehall artists. Come and see Raggatech Sound, El Peligro, Bo Bastic and a surprise guest to be revealed on the very day. Join us!
