Successful launch of the new PLADS project

.

This past week, in collaboration with Rune Brink Hansen from Dark Matters and Majken Overgaard from Art & Innovation Hub, I launched a new project. It's called PLADS; a platform for open source art and technology installations in urban space.

As part of the launch we had engaged with 8 Copenhagen-based artists, who all came up with ideas for PLADS installations - using sound, sensors, light and more to enhance public spaces and create playgrounds for all ages. Using funds from the Danish Arts Council we held an artist workshop, had a series of meetings with potential venues and finally a public exhibition on Friday to show the world this first iteration of the project. Everything was held in the Dome of Visions in the Copenhagen harbor, a very impressive setting.

Next steps include diving into more thorough documentation and presentation materials, heavy fundraising and, hopefully soon, the building of the first prototypes.

Read more about PLADS on the official website at www.plads.org and stay in the loop by liking the project on Facebook.
