As part of the global community of Creative Commons Affiliates (the custodians of the CC license tools) I am proud to contribute to a new tradition that has been published for the first time this week: The annual release of a mixtape of great music from artists around the world using CC licenses. Out this week!
This idea follows the 10-year anniversary mixtape that we put out in 2012 on behalf of the European Affiliates as part of the CC 10-year anniversay, only this 2015 edition covers the entire globe. My contribution has been to design the artwork and submit Danish artists for consideration - of which Periskop was chosen with one of the tracks of his '40'We hope that this will be the beginning of an annual tradition: a musical tribute to and celebration of the talent of the artists and Creative Commons sharing tools.
A whopping 25 countries have contributed, covering 4 continents of amazing music cultures and artistic talents of all audio trades. Dive in to discover what the world has to offer while at the same time appreciating sharing culture. Enjoy!
