Co-organizing Open Data Day 2015 in Copenhagen

.

.

On February 22 2015 the whole world will celebrate Open Data Day; a gathering of citizens in cities around the world to celebrate and learn about open data. Join the event in Copenhagen!

The whole idea is to show support for and encourage the adoption and promotion of open data by citizens and governments. Read more about the global movement and all the other events on the global Open Data Day website. You can also join the global conversation on international discussion list.

For this Danish event we're bringing together a handful of communities to collaborate around this common cause: Open Knowledge Denmark, Wikimedia Denmark, Digitaliseringsstyrelsen, Creative Commons Denmark, KK Open Data Portal, Open Data Aarhus, Solobeta and IoT People. Additionally, we're working together with Kunsthal Nikolaj, Statens Museum for Kunst and Frost Festival.

This band of organizations will put together a multi-tiered program with various workshops and activities that are open for anyone to participate in: We'll have data sprints, sensor-data hackathons, a video remix competition and much more. Check out the full program on the official Open Data Day Denmark 2014 website. I've also promoted the event on the Creative Commons Denmark blog and Open Knowledge Denmark blog.

Leading up to the event I've done some promoting on the main Open Knowledge blog here and here. The latter is an overview of most of the events happening and was cross-posted on the Publish What You Fund blog.

POST-SCRIPT: Here is a round-up of event done by Niels Erik Kaaber Rasmussen from Open Knowledge Denmark. I've also done a summary of some of the most prominent events globally on the main Open Knowledge blog.
